Where Zadar is?
Information of Zadar
For centuries, Zadar has been Dalmatia’s most important city and is the centre of the region today. It is located opposite the islands of Uglijan and Pasman, from which it is separated by the Zadar Strait. It owes its natural appeal to its fantastic position in the middle of the Adriatic coast, surrounded by four national parks, namely Plitvice (16 lakes connected by 92 waterfalls), Paklenica (featuring Croatia’s highest mountain, the southern side of which descends directly into the sea), Krka (a beautiful rocky river that flows through a gorge into the sea, forming numerous lakes and waterfalls along the way) and Kornati (a fabulous archipelago comprising 101 islands).
Zadar’s harbour has 300 berths, a reception, a bureau de change, toilet and shower facilities, a restaurant, a snack bar, a grocer’s, a workshop for repairs, a shop selling spare parts for boats, vehicle hire, 15 cranes and a parking area.
The harbour is next to the airport. A ferry service operates between the harbour and the main ports, and also provides a connection with Italy (Ancona).
