Where Dubrovnik is?
Information
Often referred to as "the pearl of the Adriatic", Dubrovnik is a coastal Croatian city in the south of Dalmatia and one of the Adriatic’s leading tourist destinations. The main city of the county of Dubrovnik-Neretva, Dubrovnik is surrounded by walls and fortifications, and lies at the foot of a mountain that rises sharply above those of the Mediterranean. UNESCO declared the historic centre of Dubrovnik (the walled enclosure) a World Heritage site in 1979 and extended the declaration in 1994.
Dubrovnik’s harbour is close to Komolac, 2 nautical miles from the entrance to the port of Gruz and 6 km from the city centre. The harbour has 450 berths, a reception, a bureau de change, a laundry, toilet and shower facilities, a restaurant, a grocer’s, a workshop for repairs, 60 travel lifts and a parking area. There is a refuelling station 500 m from the harbour.
Dubrovnik’s airport is in the outskirts of the city and, like its ferry service, provides transport to and from Croatia’s major destinations.
